Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran, born March 10, 1949, is an American businesswoman and investor. She is also a lecturer and consultant, a columnist syndicated, speaker writer, author and television presenter. She co-founded The Corcoran Group, a real estate brokerage located in New York City, which she sold to NRT for $66 million in 2001 and shortly thereafter , the company was sold. Corcoran was among the first Shark Tank investors. She was a regular on every episode of ABC's Shark Tank. In February of 2020, she had signed 53 deals. One of them was a $350,000 investment to Coverplay at 40%. Corcoran was the second of 10 kids born to an Irish-Catholic couple working in the middle class living in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mother was an excellent homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was always changing jobs during Corcoran's career. Her family sometimes depended on free food delivery from a nearby grocery store. Corcoran recalls that her father was an intoxicated man who would sometimes treat her mother with disrespect and disrespect, especially when having consumed alcohol. Corcoran struggled in school and later learned that she was dyslexic. Corcoran was a student at a local Catholic elementary school before beginning high school in St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. Corcoran who was in the process of failing many classes during her first year of high school, was moved to Leonia High School.
